The gears and other transmission components, made of alloy steel (e.g. case-hardening steel, tempered steel), are Electron Beam Welded (EBW) to ensure a sound joint and a reduced heat input to the base material that and thus to avoid hardness variations or distortions of the parts.

The high vacuum inside the welding chamber ensure the absence of oxidation on the weld and adjacent base material.

The accurate control of all welding parameters guarantees the repeatability of the process results and thus tight control of key characteristics of welded components. The welded parts have no distortions and thus there is no need of post-weld mechanical processing.
